Education & Training

Introduction

Germany’s automobile production, mechanical engineering and chemical industries are amongst the world’s leaders. The quality of the products manufactured in Germany is the key factor underlying the success of these and other industries.  This quality is directly attributable to the skill level of the workers.

Germany has a highly skilled workforce which results from apprenticeship training programs which are referred to as the 'Dual System'.  A University based education is not always required or desired for a successful career because of the numerous vocational schools and certificates available. The success of this education and training system has made it a model for many other industrial nations.
